The latest EuroCham Business Confidence Index (BCI) rose to 79.7 in Q2 2026โ€”the highest level in nearly seven years and just shy of the all-time high recorded in late 2025.

At a time when global businesses are navigating tariffs, geopolitical tensions, and supply chain uncertainty, this is an encouraging signal.

What stands out isn’t just the headline numberโ€”it’s what is driving it:

  • Stronger business activity. European companies in Vietnam reported better-than-expected performance despite a challenging global backdrop.
  • Growing confidence in reforms. Continued progress on administrative reforms, infrastructure investment, and improvements to the business environment are reinforcing Vietnam’s attractiveness as a long-term investment destination.
  • Long-term commitment. Rather than waiting on the sidelines, many European businesses are planning to expand operations in Vietnam, reflecting confidence that extends well beyond the current economic cycle.

For investors, sentiment surveys should never be viewed in isolation. But when improving business confidence aligns with strong GDP growth, resilient FDI inflows, and an accelerating reform agenda, it strengthens the case that Vietnam remains one of Asia’s most compelling long-term growth markets.
